Correspondent from New York
There's an old new club in town - the Association of Independent Software Industry Professionals a poster-boy for the shareware (or try-before-you-buy) software industry.
This site is formerly run by Susan Picohotta and sold to another person. Unfortunately, that other person has not maintained the site since 8 years ago. The site (source) boasts prominent members who no longer associate with that site. Some of them even passed away (RIP) or no longer in the Shareware Business (Mike Stevenson sold his domain Liquid Mirror). David Webber is always looking for a seller since 4 years ago, Dennis Reinhardt sold most of his businesses and moved on. It reads like a list of Shareware businesses gone sour.
Since the site has not been maintained for long, your correspondent jointed the site on pretext of schmoozing with other like-minded people. Unfortunately, after paying -- nobody replied, nobody was able to answer the AISP supplied phone number (see WHOIS). The only way was to contact ESellerate and after some haggling with ESellerate, managed to shut-down their three payment processors (Digital River owns RegNow, ESellerate, SWREG) (source).
