Dim Sums in China

Foreign Correspondent from Hong Kong.
Follow-up on "Delphi Financials: Why so expensive in Hong Kong"

Reverse Off-Shoring
In the past, Corporate CEOs would move jobs off-shore to save on taxes, save on dollars. The idea is, have people work for less and less money for more and more work. Instead of hiring 2 American Delphi developers, you could hire 10 Chinese Delphi developers instead. This takes advantage of low wages in China coupled with skilled labour.

The previous article got some feedback and Mr. David Intersimone has said that this ridiculous policy where "you cannot buy from outside your own country" has been removed(1). In the past, Chinese developers were hamstrung by Borland's stupidity and greedy corporate rules. Instead of developing a market for Delphi, it developed a black market for illegal street sellers to market the infamous fake "Delphi Box", illegal Delphi CDs, illegal DBase CDs, Borland Office CDs, Borland Paradox for DOS, Borland Pascal and inclusive of every component since Turbo Pascal 3.0.

Instead of buying from Embarcadero China, someone dared to buy from a reseller in USA (or by visiting USA and brought Delphi).

Dim Sums
The bravery of Mr. Bear Xu to dare to buy directly from USA and ignore Embarcadero China was met with angry telephone calls from Embarcadero China over illegal product licensing. It was resolved amicably.

If this continued, your correspondent would organize to public rally to protest outside Embarcadero's sellers in Hong Kong and call upon unemployed Hong Kong Delphi Developers to protest against the ridiculously high prices that Mainlander and Hong Kong Delphi developers face, call the press and reporters to publish it.

Ask yourself, if a Chinese Delphi developer earns 4,000 Yuan (US$625.00) how can someone afford something that costs 49,000 Yuan (US$7,650)* not to mention pay for many things on yearly basis?

If there was a legal challenge against Embarcadero's EULA "30 days clause", it would fall apart in both Hong Kong and China consumer protection laws since Hong Kong and China are viewed legally as two countries, one system.

The secret how to earn 100 times profit
Mr. Bear Xu said it succulent and well in his forum posting, nobody in China or Hong Kong knows the real price of Delphi in USA and other countries, except for those who read this blog.

The cheapest version of Delphi and RAD Studio can be found in Programmer's Paradise.

This is sad. Also assuming according to EMBs view - the just normal developer installs 2 times ... this is 2,5 times the price because a third 'normal' does not work. Max registration limit is 5 (registrations afik).

In Europe when you buy at double the price you can give the item back.

Wondering if someone who installs Delphi 3 times is not 'normal'. Ok some visitors here maybe think if the one doest it the first time that's already strange and after installing the second time - learned nothing from the past.

But EMB at least should not classify people this way. This is not nice.

Anyway the moment we the forums are online I will send you a link with a person that died the max registration death and a good story about a man who bought 2 All Access and died the NoAccess death because the licensing serivce did not work or this limit was reached ... - this man was suck ... a very good and well experienced Delphi developer I found on linkedin.

The develish thing is the relation between the max registration count and the licenses you purchase, it seems that the registration limit is not automatically extended if you buy a second item but we will have to investigate this.

Hallo Mr. Hater!

Mr. Uwe Schuster was asking - at a time when all 'Want more' the Delphi people also want more Haters' posts. Mr. Schuster is the Hero of Delphi 2010 FT (whatever this is but sounds important).

We have been worried too, but we saw you at least online yesterday for a few seconds in the chat. So you are doing fine we hope.

Original ...
'What happened to the Delphi Haters' Blog? I was used to a lot of posts each month and the newest post was published 12 days ago.'

In the Bunnies' wording: 'Hold on, hold on', the QC Sentinel is screaming, 'Half a moon has passed by and no twitter from the Angry Bird .. Where have all the Haters gone. We want more.'

For us this means, they want less quality but a lot shipped.' EMB serves them well. Referring Mr. Schusters article and Plugin in order to fix strange Delphi IDE behavior...

This is is very likely the issue, Haters' articles are of high quality.

In order to serve the 'we want more category' ... allow me to offer at least the latest article, of our Communication Special - Haters explained series ...
