HR Dept: Work Sharing instead?

Goodness,
Embarcadero went from hiring spree to firing spree. They could have taken task to save jobs, like making employees aware about saving costs or keeping in deadlines while maximizing productivity.



From your correspondent's friends in the State of California, there are employment plans - Work Sharing and WARN. Could Embarcadero have explored other options to save jobs - e.g. - putting workers on temporary leave, alternate week-ends, getting employees to come on alternate hours or possibly work from home (if they had matters to attend to)?


Let's hope the HR department is not staffed by same guys from Borland's HR Department ;)
