What they don't want...

Correspondent from New York

Critical Thinking Dept.
When this blog started out, it was meant to be a think-tank for the worsening Delphi programming situation. The group of people behind this blog thought it would improve, but it has steadily worsened over the years.

Our blog went against many people, notably - the owners (i.e., the vendors - first-party, second-party, third-party and forth-party vendors). Many of the complaints fell on deaf ears and it was business as usual - false promises, ever-changing road-maps, increasing prices, worsening quality every year.

But.. there's a reason for this, there's a reason why Delphi training is very poor, why nobody reaches the top and why nobody ever gets smart enough to fix things. It's the same reason why things will never, ever, ever, be fixed. It will never get any better, don't look for it - be happy with what you got.

The owners of the source codes - the vendors don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners - the big wealthy vendors that control all the source codes and make all the important decisions. Forget the TeamB. The TeamB are put there to give you the idea you have freedom of choice (and entertain you). You don't. You have no choice. You have the owners instead. They own you. They own all the source codes and happy to license it to you at ever increasing costs and lowering quality.

We know what they want - They want more for themselves and less for everyone else.

But I'll tell you what they don't want - they don't want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don't want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. They are not interested in that. That doesn't help them. It is against their interests.

They don't want people who are smart enough to stand around the water cooler to figure out they are getting badly **** by a system that threw them out many years ago.. They don't want that. You know what they want?

They want obedient workers. Coders who are just smart enough to start Delphi, code the Apps and do the QA -- but dumb enough to accept the increasingly shittier Delphi jobs (what jobs?), the lower and reduced pay (work for less or get fired), the longer hours (or coming back on Saturday and Sunday) and the end of overtime, the reduced benefits, the vanishing pension, the end of social security...

The table is tiled, the game is rigged. Nobody seems to notice... Nobody seems to care...
That's what the vendors count on.

:) Ok, the man in the video talks about the > 500 corporates that control > 50% of the world's GNPs.

In the tiny agreed too.

With Delphi it is more simple - would you go to a shop and buy a chair with 3 feet which was designed to work with 4 feet and every month the vendor ships you the 4th feet inch by inch but never reach the total length. (EMB way)

You will not buy, but what CG still does is different, they market the chair as little puppy, so people say poor puppy needs a home and what you get from third party vendors are pills psychotropic drugs for you to somehow stand the whining of the poor little dog over the years, because Codegear cut off the feet of the puppy before shipping and did not even dress the raw wound (This is the Borland way). Most third-party vendors still follow the 90s way ... independent if .net or VCL.

Anyway agreed in the commercial vendor world you will never get what is possible, because everyone wants to have business tomorrow, because money has to flow. Same is with cars or other commodities. In the end you only have a choice between those products that are not healthy.

Money is the lube it's not the machine. Limit the lube and you control those who posses the machines.

I suggest we should make a customer buy out, found the EMB co-op and then we all together make lots of open-source stuff but working and the money invested today for marketing will be invested into the people who do the work. I think this can lead to a better result and marketing by word of mouth is a lot cheaper.

In Scott's Valley there is a good pool, people should be in the position to make use of it whenever they like, my first company also had a pool, best thing ever ...

In the western world it's over almost anyway. It seems the IMF is no longer in the position with all the money to finance the shift in world trade away from what was known as the western world to SA or the eastern world.

The only way to get independent from money is to use (almost) free things and stay competent. A good sniper shoots precisely with almost every gun.

What you tried is impossible. You cannot convince someone who does not want to be convinced.

You tried this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFDU6NEmcxQ
(Keep the Faith - Terminator II)

But reality is this ... Delphi Love!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmqhVCXSKCQ
(Summer Glau - I'm in love with the terminator.)

The Show will continue ... They will send a Terminator back every year... and the show will continue ... Codegear is a Sales Show!

(You Could be Mine - GnR's)
btw: This comes close to the current XE2 concert:)

:)Graphic Equaliser
This was just for the reply. I think it fits good. But does Casa Del Mirto provide us here with a

Guitarist with a quacksalver's hat, scenes from a steelworks reminding us of the Firemonkey, cowboy-hats and song lines like 'You get nuthin' done' ... 'But this nightmare never ends' ...?

Agreed, I have heard better quality music, agreed I have seen quality software before, ok rarely :)

I will consider your suggestion in the future! My suggestion
