Foreign Correspondent from Belarus

Our correspondent who gives us TBits and TPieces from Minsk reports.

Dissents who utilize foreign websites for buying products (and also to stir dissent (i.e., buying from FaceBook)) are targeted for per-usage fines. This new law also affects software developers. Our correspondent reports that several websites offering third-party Delphi products are affected by this new ruling.
It raises interesting questions:
- If a Delphi developer from Belarus buys from foreign websites outside Belarus, would he be liable for it, since most of the Delphi third-party websites are outside Belarus?
- How would someone order products from Embarcadero?
- How would software be delivered to customers outside Belarus?
Going south for the Winter?
South of Belarus, is the Ukraine. Some Belarusians go on social visits to neighboring Ukraine to find jobs (skip the town called Chernobyl), where the winters are not so cold and seaside resorts of Odessa and Sevastopol offer relaxing summer vacations.
The Ukraine Delphi developers may find it cold comfort since many Delphi jobs have dried-up or simply disappeared in Ukraine: the schools, under pressure to deliver affordable computer science education, dropped Delphi from their syllabus three years ago.

This is amazing ... but they could move onwards and go to a country whose people isolated themselves from the western mainstream oriented Moldavia but are not accepted by another one - Go Transnistria!

I think they will find many Delphi developers there, very close to Romania ... a horse ride to get the CD-ROM or letter pigeon ...
